The spectacular mountain range in Grand Teton National Park

Grand Teton National Park is a national park in Wyoming, USA that is known for the Teton mountain range and is also popular for outdoor activities.

Upon arrival, I was able to see the mountain range in the distance. There was smoke in the air, so the view was not as clear as it could have been.

There was also a field of bison, which are common animals to see out in this region of the USA.

Simply driving through the park offers great views of the Teton Range from up close. The range is 40 miles long and the park includes the northern part of a valley called Jackson Hole. There is a town called Jackson, and then there is also Jackson Hole. The difference is that Jackson Hole refers to the entire valley, while Jackson is one of the towns in the valley, along with Teton Village, Moran Junction, Moose, and more.

The elevation of the highest peak, which is called Grand Teton, is 13,775 feet (4,198 m). As you drive past and see the different peaks of the mountain range, it is surreal. By being up close to these mountains, you realize how big they actually are.

Moose, Wyoming is a small town inside of the park. When I was there, there were a lot of people pulled over on the side of the road looking at something downhill in the distance. Coincidentally, it turned out to be a moose sighting... in a town called Moose! There was an adult with its baby. Out of the time I was there, this was the only time I saw moose, so I was glad I got to see at least two.

After a great first day of exploring the park, this was the view from my campsite. As the sun gradually set behind the mountain range, it made for beautiful sunsets every evening. My campsite was at the grounds of Bridger-Teton National Forest on Toppings Lake Road. It was free too!

This is a photograph of T.A. Moulton Barn, which is the most photographed barn in the USA. The area it is located is known as Mormon Row Historic District, an area that was once inhabited my Mormon settlers from Idaho in the 1890s. You can see a great view of the Teton Range behind it, making for a great (and popular) photograph. While you’re at the park, this is a well-known place to come visit and take pictures.

The Teton Range is one of the most iconic mountain ranges on the planet. There are many different places to take in the view of the mountain range. This is the view that you can get of the mountains right near Mormon Row. Also, if you wait around long enough, you can watch planes fly in and out of Jackson Hole Airport, which is the only commercial airport in the USA that is located in a national park. If you look closely, you can see an airplane in this photograph on the left side of the mountain range’s highest peak.

Jenny Lake is a great place to hike a trail, take a scenic boat ride, kayak and paddle board, or simply sit down and take in the serene atmosphere. I took the scenic boat ride that takes you to and from a hiking trail and it was wonderful. In fact, it was my favorite part of the park that I went to.

The hiking trail included a waterfall known as Hidden Falls, which is on the way to a lookout point called Inspiration Point. This waterfall has a fitting name, as it is hidden among the trees and suddenly becomes visible while walking on the trail. It is great stopping point before making the trek up to the highest point in the hike.

This is the view from inspiration point, the highest part of the hike. The elevation is 7200 ft (2194.56 m). The view of Jenny Lake with the mountain in the distance is beautiful. As you stand above the trees, it is a rewarding view. You can even see the boats come and go from one dock to the other.

On the way up and down to Inspiration Point, you can see some of the Teton Range in the distance. This is a view that really demonstrates how tall this mountain range is, as you get to see it from up close.

The Jenny Lake boat shuttle service takes people from the East side of the lake to the West side and vice versa. You can get a boat to the West and hike around the lake, or you can get a round trip on the boat. For the sake of time and being a big fan of boat rides, I opted to take the round trip. So, I hiked up to Inspiration Point and hiked down the same way I came down to catch a boat back to the East side. Also, the boat shuttles run every ten to fifteen minutes and the last boat leaves at the posted closing time. With that said, be mindful of what time the final boat picks up hikers. Otherwise, you will have to hike back yourself.

This was the sunset on my second (and last) evening at the campground where I stayed. The way the sun dropped behind the mountain for the final moments of daylight made for a great silhouette of the mountain range.

Finally, this was the view of the mountain range at the bottom of the road leading up to the campsite I was at. On the morning I left, this was the view of the Teton Range as the sun was rising. To get up early and see what the mountains looked like was worth it. Plus, it was quiet and peaceful.

On the way out, I saw more bison, just like I did when I was entering the park. Until next time, this was the final goodbye to the scenery.

Being able to spend some time at Grand Teton National Park was worthwhile and full of amazing sights of the mountains, landscape, and wildlife. Altogether, the atmosphere made me feel good and in touch with nature. I’m thankful for my time there and I am glad I got to get so much photography. I hope you enjoyed my highlights and I hope I encouraged you to visit (or revisit) yourself!
